The Smederij [The Forge] is the military history information point of the Military History Platform. The Smederij is located at the Arthur Koolkazerne, a monumental building from 1908 with a splendid military history. With the information point, the platform aims to support battlefield tourism in Ede. The platform provides guided tours, organizes exhibitions, welcomes schools and offers walking and cycling routes.
The military history of Ede is presented on the basis of two main themes, 'The Ede Garrison' and 'Ede during WW2’.
